Do you control moisture?

Yes we do, by using only pure kiln dried material for our raw material supply. Wood flour however will respond to changing climatic conditions varying the moisture content. We process and package to inhibit moisture fluctuation; we cannot prevent it.

What species do you offer?

We presently offer five species: Ponderosa Pine, Maple, Oak, Southern Yellow Pine and Spruce. Not all packaging options are available for all species. Need a different species? Ask your local representative. Working together we can find and supply what you need.

What is the price of wood flour?

Prices vary based upon species, particle distribution and quantity demanded. A quick check with your local representative will help identify the exact choice to fit your application and your pocketbook.

Is wood flour temperature sensitive?

Wood flour is manufactured from wood; a carbon based naturally occurring organic and as such is affected and will decompose under extreme temperatures over time. We have found those process temperatures of 180 Centigrade or lower to be best. This threshold temperature can and has been exceeded in some applications. Call your local representative with detailed questions.

What are the locations of the American Wood Fibers Plants?

American Wood Fibers has six current plants providing wood flour. All locations do not provide all species. Talk to your local representative to find the closest AWF location that provides the species and particle distribution that is best suited for your application.
